Thank you so much for your generosity which will build a brighter future for children and adults with autism and I appreciate your support as I strive to reach my goal. Please see our accomplishment this year at http://tinyurl.com/gtd4autism
PARAMUS, NJ –Four northern NJ nonprofit organizations that serve individuals with autism are putting up some impressive numbers in an effort to ensure that individuals with autism receive the education they deserve.
On Sunday, May 5, more than 1,200 cyclists, families, 320 volunteers, thousands of donors and a large number of sponsors attended the fourth annual Go the Distance for Autism Bike Event at the Westfield Garden State Plaza. Riders of all ages cycled more than 15,000 miles and raised nearly $900,000 to support the educational programs for learners with autism at Alpine Learning Group, The EPIC School, Garden Academy and REED Academy.
"We are truly humbled by the generosity of our families and the community at large," said Dr. Bridget Taylor, Founder and Executive Director of Alpine Learning Group. "The event has raised $2,8 in just four years for autism education. To raise this much money is a testament to the power of partnerships and a clear and well-articulated message: get involved and together we will make a difference in the lives of hundreds of individuals with autism and their families," continued Dr. Taylor.
